Organizational transformation is the new norm. Helping leaders and their teams navigate change across global enterprises is an essential ingredient to thriving in the new world of work. From adaptability, to resilience, capacity and competency building, to the launch of agile, Nexus is helping human resource professionals and the companies they work for redefine their world of work.

Manulife had a challenge with their existing change management toolkit. It wasn’t very user friendly so it was unlikely Manulife leaders and individual contributors would ever use it. As a result, most Manulife teams would be unprepared for future change and unable to capitalize on these changes to make positive impact, which could have a negative impact on their business at large.

The Nexus solution was comprehensive but simple for audiences to use and digest. The program consisted of: change management and team enablement toolkits, a redesigned, highly navigable homepage, quick reference cards with clever, succinct explanations of the concepts users need most with recommended actions, fun self-assessment tools that allow users to measure their readiness for change with recommend resources to help them prepare; and highly engaging and illustrative podcasts can be listened to just about anywhere, at any time. High impact videos and podcasts all make for an immersive bite sized learning experience that is easy to understand, easy to use and easy to share.

ACCORHotels, one of the world’s preeminent hotel operators with 4,500+ locations globally, needed to integrate each of their hotel’s global loyalty programs into one – Fairmont President’s Club, Raffles Ambassadors and Swissôtel Circle into Le Club ACCORHotels. Nexus supported this large-scale change initiative with the development of high impact communications and learning tools to achieve their integration goals while putting their various audiences – segmented groups within each hotel including management, guest-facing, call-center and franchise owners – at ease with the impending changes. It was deemed a successful change initiative across their three brands, four global regions and many stakeholder groups.

HBC Radically Better

The last few years has been turbulent for retailers, especially with Amazon disrupting the space and leveraging their network to push competitors out.  HBC recognized the need for an equally disruptive strategy to respond to market realities, and asked Nexus to help.  Our solution was a company-wide performance program called “Radically Better.”   The program focused on streamlining current processes, driving cross-functional collaboration, and encouraging entrepreneurial thinking and higher performance from individual team members. Nexus developed a communications campaign that had the primary objective of empowering employees and help them take an active role in the transformation journey, their own success, and the success of the company.

HBC Our Move

HBC was under-going a massive workplace consolidation by integrating five banners across five physical locations from Manhattan to Brookfield Place in the World Trade Center. Nexus developed a communications campaign under the theme of “Welcome to your new office. The adventure begins.” Key communications addressed the unique cultures of Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, Gilt and HBC, physical location changes (Uptown, Midtown, Chelsea all to Battery Park) along with the transition to open plan and agile office. It was the perfect convergence of culture, physical office move and workplace transformation – all in one project. The result? A smooth move. An integrated culture. A well received and well managed office transformation.
